In brief

  • The automotive world is shifting left in its approach to testing, placing greater emphasis on end-user satisfaction
  • Zoreza Global's Test Automation Platform (TAP) is revolutionizing automotive testing by providing a web-based solution that integrates all steps of the testing lifecycle into one easy-to-use tool
  • The platform allows users to book test benches, run automated test scripts and manage test environments 24/7 from anywhere in the world

Software testing is a daunting task, especially in critical and demanding areas like the automotive industry. The multitude of varied test cases, executed hundreds and thousands of times, is a big challenge, even with a certain degree of automation: You still have to get hold of the whole process — which is the next level of maturity.

But now, with our web-based Test Automation Platform (TAP), a new era of testing begins.

TAP — the future of automotive testing

In today's automotive landscape, where competition is fierce and time to market is crucial, the importance of robust testing cannot be overstated. The automotive world is shifting left in its approach to testing, placing greater emphasis on end-user satisfaction. TAP sets out to transform the industry by elevating the test automation rate across various car lines and markets, ultimately enabling a holistic quality approach. TAP integrates all steps of the testing life cycle into one easy-to-use tool and combines all test automation capabilities.

TAP in a nutshell

TAP is a cloud-based platform with a web interface. It was designed using Zoreza Global’s extensive experience in IVI testing and in-depth knowledge of the modern demand for remote, scalable and cost-effective test frameworks.

Users can book test benches assigned to a corresponding project and according to filtered capabilities. Remote execution of manual test scenarios is as easy as clicking an icon.

More options are available, like selecting and running automated test scripts in custom test suites, browsing test execution progress and test results, or checking automatically created defects and reports

Main features of TAP

TAP is accessible 24/7 from any device with any modern browser and an internet connection. With its lightweight tab-based user interface, TAP is easy to learn and use. Compared to other highly specialized tools, which require mastery and knowledge of dozens of functions, TAP can be successfully applied from day one without compromising any functionality.

The Test Automation Platform is especially useful for: Organizing distributed test hardware into test farms; synchronizing test cycles with CI/CD; integrating test management and defect management systems; transparently managing test environments according to project roles; and getting instant reporting.

No job is too big for TAP — screen grabbing, video streaming, image recognition, touch events and swipes emulated on modern IVI software — everything is possible. Additionally, as an integrated solution, which uses off-the-shelf hardware components and open-source software, TAP is cost-effective and adaptable. You can also assemble the hardware in the form of a stationary test bench or a rugged portable case — depending on the project demands.

TAP was designed with automotive IVI systems in mind, but as a truly comprehensive solution, clients can also extend its functionality to other domains and industries.

Guest mode — explore TAP instantly

No installation, no registration. Just visit tap.luxoft.com, enter the system in guest mode by clicking the “Login as Guest” button and start exploring.

This mode allows you to see the wide potential of the testing platform, featuring functionality of both real-world and virtual environments. Everything is showcased within a completely isolated demo project, so you don’t need to worry about interfering with any ongoing real tests.

As TAP is available online 24/7, you can take a look at the testing automation possibilities from anywhere in the world — no matter if you work on site or from your home-office, or even when you are on a business trip. Just log in as a guest and you can start experimenting.

A typical workflow

After logging in as a guest, you can start running automated tests in three easy steps:

  1. Go to the “BOOK TARGET” tab, select an available test bench and book the available time for it.
  2. Click the “RUN TESTS” button, then select the tests to be run on booked or automatically selected target.
  3. Select tests in the “DRESSING ROOM” and click the “RUN SELECTED TASKS” button in “RUN TESTS” tab.

Et voila! The test execution has started.

This can give you an idea of how fast, lightweight and intuitive the TAP interface is. At any time, you can go to the “BOOK TARGET” tab again to view your booking or click the “GO TO TARGET” button to see what’s going on, using either a screen grabber or a live view camera pointed at the screen. The screen grabbing feature allows you to visit your target and tinker with its interface, using emulated touch events and swipes. Manual testing is also an option.
